Edge of Care Support Service

Tender description

Providing, through volunteers, a Countywide 'Edge of Care' Support service to families for whom entry into care has been considered either on a voluntary basis or through legal proceedings – minimising the need for children to enter the care system i.e. becoming 'Looked After', by supporting families through alternative services to stay together. Volunteers work with families in times of crisis to: stabilise them; prevent escalation of need; lower the risk of child abuse and neglect; and reduce the number of children taken into care. This support is most beneficial in cases where there is a short to medium-term crisis or need that is currently affecting, or likely to affect, the wellbeing of the child(ren).
