Tender description

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England (the commissioner) is seeking market interest for the provision of general dental services and/or unscheduled dental services in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire. This provision will be offered for a period of 18 months whilst a full tender exercise is being prepared. The aim of this expression of interest is to: 1) Allow the market visibility of the proposed opportunity; 2) Support NHS England to make an informed decision on the future commissioning of this service; 3) To gauge the level of interest from the market of capable providers with capacity across Lincolnshire to deliver the services. To this end, interested providers are requested to complete a short questionnaire by 12:00 noon on the 19.2.2019 to express interest in this opportunity. It is proposed this will be a caretaker contract for a period of 18 months starting from 1.4.2019 whilst a full Invitation to Tender is being prepared. Mablethorpe is a small rural town on the East Coast of Lincolnshire located in the local authority area of East Lindsey (approximate population including neighbouring Sutton on Sea is 12 500). There are a high proportion of older people residing in this area as reflected in the Dental Year End Report (March 2018). The opportunity will be to provide services to approximately 5 600 patients per year. Note that this notice is purely to gauge market interest in the opportunity for short-term caretaker provision and is not an Invitation to Tender.
