Tender description

The provision of an effective, comprehensive Custody Detention Officer Service which is responsible for the reception, detention, welfare and disposal of detainees and other attendees, whilst in the custody suite and whilst an investigation continues outside of custody. This includes voluntary attendances and interviews and virtual court appearances. The Custody Detention Officer Service will operate 24 hrs per day, 365 days per year (366 days per leap year) at specified Custody suites in Staffordshire Police’s area. This includes voluntary attendances and interviews and virtual court appearances. The Custody Detention Officer Service will: — operate 24 hrs per day, 365 days per year (366 days per leap year) at specified Custody suites in Staffordshire Police’s area, — operate under the direction of a Custody Sergeant, — provide and maintain a safe and efficient custody environment and a high quality management regime for Detainees, — adhere to relevant legislation, policies and guidance, — employ appropriately skilled and supported staff, — complete custody-process related documentation procedures in a timely, accurate and agreed manner, — be responsible for all administrative duties with the exception of those duties which are required by the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) or other legislation to be undertaken by a Police Officer, — comply with Staffordshire Police’s standards for Safer Detention and Authorised Professional Practice (APP).
