Tender description

Thanet District Council (and on behalf of Canterbury City Council, Dover District Council, Folkestone and Hythe District Council and Thanet District Council) is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor for the replacement of flat roof coverings and associated works including scaffolding, asbestos surveys and removal and external repairs. The respective works for each Council are set out into separate geographical lots and as such, prospective contractors may bid for 1 or more lot(s). The work is to be carried out as identified by East Kent Housing (EKH) – an arms-length management organisation (ALMO) which has been setup and is owned by Thanet District Council, Canterbury City Council, Dover District Council and Folkestone and Hythe District Council to manage their respective council social housing services. The successful contractor/s will work directly to and with East Kent Housing in the delivery of the contract/s. Dover District Council wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor for the replacement of flat roof coverings and associated works including scaffolding, asbestos surveys and removal and external repairs to its social housing stock within the geographical area covered by Dover District Council. The work is to be carried out on an annual planned basis to domestic properties, sheltered schemes and blocks of flats as identified by East Kent Housing (EKH) – an arms-length management organisation (ALMO) which has been setup and is owned by Thanet District Council, Canterbury City Council, Dover District Council and Folkestone and Hythe District Council to manage their respective council social housing services. Contracting arrangements will be direct with the individual council with the contract being entered into between the successful supplier and the council for subsequent use by EKH acting on behalf of the council within their respective area of operation.
