Request for the Supply of Mobile Air Heaters to the Irish Defence Forces

Tender description

Background The Defence Forces Corps of Engineers requires Mobile Air Heaters for use with tents already in service with the Defence Forces, for use in operations at home and on Overseas Peace Support Operations. The tents volume are approx. 470m3 (length 12m x width 5m x 5m high), with 4 heating/air con ducts with an approx. opening of 250mm diamter. Heaters should be located external to the tents and supply air through a flexible hose or other means through heating duct to heat the air within the tent. It is expected that each Portable Air Heater will be capable of heating one (1) tent. The Portable Air Heater should be capable of being powered by an external generator to be supplied by the Irish Defence Forces or should have a built in generator of sufficient magnitude to maintain constant air flow to the tent on a continuous basis.
