Leisure operating contract. Ashfield District Council wishes to appoint a contract to manage its leisure facilities and services from April 2021. Strategically the Council recognise the need to invest in its sport and leisure infrastructure to meet the objectives of reducing levels of inactivity and improving health and well-being of residents and from a financial perspective recognises that this future investment could help to provide a long term sustainable solution for its leisure services. Since 2016, the Council have undertaken extensive planning work of its leisure services, including an appraisal of the financial viability and funding options available for the development of a new indoor wet and dry facility. Our work has demonstrated that investment in new health and leisure provision could have a significant positive impact on the local communities. Context The Council currently owns 3 leisure centres in the District which will form the basis for a new leisure management contract along with an Active communities programme from 1.4.2021. The contract is currently managed by everyone active through a contract that expires on 31.3.2021. The facilities and services that will be within the contract are: — Lammas Leisure Centre, Sutton-in-Ashfield, — Hucknall Leisure Centre, Hucknall, — The Festival Hall Leisure Centre.
