Tender description
The Government of Jersey's Strategic Policy, Planning and Performance Department invites expressions of interests from expert advisors to support a review of the Island’s incapacity benefit system. The system supports working-age people who experience a temporary or long-term health condition; its design needs to help maintain a productive workforce and reduce the number of people who leave work through ill-health or disability. Advisors will provide contemporary knowledge of incapacity benefits, and their interaction with sickness, disability and working life. Starting in 2020, the project will address the preparatory and research stages of the review and the design of legislation that facilitates a modern and best-practice assessment of incapacity. The review will consider possible changes to existing statutory cash benefits, and the use of other forms of support that would be offered in addition to, or instead of, direct financial support.
