Tender description

Proposals were requested for the preparation of a Retail and Town Centre Study for the local authority areas of Allerdale and Copeland. The Retail, Town Centre and Leisure Study should be a robust evidence base document which is in conformity with national policy requirements as it will be used to inform the new Copeland Local Plan (2017-2035), production of which is currently under way. The overarching aims of the Study will be to identify how the town centres within Allerdale and Copeland are currently functioning, recognising the changing role and functions of town centres. It should identify opportunities for the provision of multi-functional spaces within town centres to allow West Cumbria to rapidly react to the changing function of town centres. The Retail and Town Centre Study should provide an assessment for the next 10 years, with more general indications for the additional time frame to 2035.
