Tender description

We are now seeking an engineering review of the structure, work and resourcing of the Technical Services Engineering Function and the Operations Engineering Functions holistically to establish a structure that will meet current and future capacity and demand requirements of the organisation given the organisations aspirations for growth over the next 10-years. Waterways Ireland recognise the value of our engineering staff across the organisation and we wish to harness their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm in an effective work structure, which meets evolving business needs in an ever changing world. The fundamental requirements for this programme are; I. Review current engineering staffing and reporting structures across the Technical Services Directorate and Operations Directorate and from within each section. II. Document engineering activities performed to allocation of resources across the Technical Services and Operations Directorates. III. Benchmark the engineering functions across the Technical Services and Operations Directorates against relevant benchmark data. IV. Assess whether the current structure and staffing of that structure is the best model for service delivery and identify alternative options for improvement. V. Consider succession planning scenarios including staff development opportunities and methods to increase retention rates within the functions. VI. Identify any enhancements to the seamless integration and collaboration of engineering resources deployed across functions and locations. VII. Engage with the Mechanical and Electrical, Engineering Design, Environmental, Health and Safety, Asset Management and Operations functions and identify the best practice model for service delivery, including alternative options.
