Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will work directly on a supplier-led team with team with other data and product specialists. The specialist will also work with traditional delivery and product roles within the existing programme and with SMEs across the department to ensure predictable and regular delivery. What Specialists Work On 1.Working within the Business Data Team, design well architected data platforms by collaborating with users and colleagues, using wide range of techniques, patterns and principles. 2.Develop foundational set of capabilities aligned to departmental strategy that enables rapid, reliable development of new data products & services 3.Provide technical guidance to development teams on architectural best practice across cloud, on-premise and inter-departmental solutions 4.Develop solution options, undertake impact analysis on alternatives 5.Continuous improvement through iterative architectural and technology techniques 6.Advise on the technical aspects of development, integration and support 7.Mentor & share technical expertise with solution designers, developers and other technology colleagues Where the Work Takes Place Location is flexible but there will be a requirement to travel to Tothill Street, London, SW1 when necessary. Early Market Engagement A discovery exercise has been carried out to understand how to maximise integration and re-use potential and gain a better understanding of opportunities for integration across the existing programme. This process has produced an interim target architecture and proposed team arrangement. Working Arrangements Flexible - All expenses shall be capped in accordance with the buyer's travel and expense policy. Work Location Location is flexible but there will be a requirement to travel to Tothill Street, London, SW1 when necessary. Security Clearance Pre-arranged SC clearance is required Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Demonstrable relevant domain experience of deploying hybrid cloud data solutions, particularly migrating on-premise solutions to cloud-based equivalents Demonstrable solution architecture skills in big data, analytics and data engineering platforms within large UK public sector organisation Demonstrable experience within the last 2 years of leading a project involved with integrating on-premise services with cloud environments Experience in designing systems that are cloud agnostic, such as they work across different platforms Demonstrable experience within the last 2 years of data platform design and implementation Demonstrable experience with cloud cost-optimisation techniques with evidence of deliver of cost optimisation programmes Demonstrable experience and expertise in designing systems that comply with public sector standards Demonstrable experience in digital delivery to GDS standards including principles, tools and governance 5+ years senior stakeholder engagement and management including demonstrable experience of building trust and ultimately strong relationships with previously disaffected stakeholders Security Architecture skills with evidence of security design to government OFFICIAL level elf starter, able to work without direct guidance under their own control Nice to Haves 2+ years experience of working with digital delivery teams within UK Government 5+ years of designing and delivering solutions in Amazon Web Services AWS Certified Solutions Architect No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria Be a self starter and be able to demonstrate independently deliver value without direct guidance or Demonstrate ability to be transparent and collaborative when making decisions Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for their own work Demonstrate ability to be tenacious in the face of adversity Demonstrable experience in actively sharing knowledge and experiences with other team members • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with existing internal supplier teams and other supplier teams Assessment Method Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 70% Cultural fit 10% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers No questions have been answered yet Budget range
