This is a market information exercise and may not necessarily lead to any future procurement process. In the event that it did proceed, it is not yet certain which procurement route would be followed. Hampshire County Council is carrying out a market engagement exercise to benchmark the supply chain covering the following laboratory services and supplies; Our Highways Laboratory, based at Micheldever, has been providing on-site and lab-based conformance testing for highway and construction materials for over 50 years. Registration and completion of this questionnaire does not constitute an expression of interest in any tender as it is not a selection questionnaire (SQ). Responses will not be used to evaluate your company, create a short-list or guarantee inclusion or exclusion in any resulting tender exercise. This exercise is to obtain feedback to inform any potential future tender process only, which will require further registration and appropriate assessment. Please note this PIN covers Services and Supplies. Section 1: professional services: including professional advice connected to the Laboratory core business in the set up and operation of a new bituminous materials testing laboratory using methylene chloride to test in accordance with BS EN 12697 parts 1&2. Including project management and coordination of the installation of the equipment and any associated building works and electrical works. Section 2: purchase and Installation of laboratory infrastructure: including specific items such as Methylene Chloride tanks, recycling stills and control systems (including fume sensors, fume extraction system, respiratory protection in case of spillage), fume cupboards, soundproof cabinets for Sieve shakers, vacuum system for methylene chloride extraction. Section 3: laboratory equipment: including binder recovery equipment, centrifuges, balances, thermometers, volumetric glassware, methylene chloride, PPE consumables including goggles, laboratory coats, gloves.
