Scope of Contracting Authority’s Requirement SERVICE TO BE PROVIDED Vehicle Recovery and Towing Services (as required). CONTRACTORS’ OBLIGATIONS (i) Vehicles which cannot be immediately towed will be secured to prevent hazards or danger to other road users. (ii) Contractor shall provide sufficient qualified and duly authorised staff to respond to requests for vehicle recovery and towing services. Recovery vehicle staff should possess an Institute of Vehicle Recovery qualification (or equivalent). (iii) Contractor shall ensure the vehicle recovery and towing services will be carried out to ensure there is no further damage caused to vehicle. The Manufacturers specific recovery procedure regarding recovering the vehicle is observed. (iv) Contractor shall ensure that the most suitable form of towing is carried out for specific vehicles including all types of alternative fuelled vehicles (Hybrid/ Electric/ Gas/Hydrogen) to prevent damage to vehicle. (v) Contractor shall recover and tow the vehicle to the Contractor’s premises, Bus Éireann premises or to other premises as instructed. (vi) Contractor will not cause any safety hazards to the recovery staff/ public or create an obstruction to other road users whilst performing recovery or towing services. This should be reflected in the company Safety Management System covering risk assessments and dynamic risk assessments at the scene. (vii) Contractor to provide best estimate on the time required for recovery and towing of vehicle. (viii) The onus is on the Contractor to ensure the task is completed in the quickest time possible with a suitable vehicle meeting all relevant legal requirements and obligations. NATURE OF CONTRACT (i) The Contract will be for a period of three (3) years (ii) Contract will be based on combined call out and recovery charge.
