NHSSC seeks to establish a non-exclusive framework agreement (FAG) for supply to NHSSC customer base via the E-Direct Route. To supply oncology ablation devices, associated accessories, consumables, maintenance and repair. Products include ablation systems and consumables, ablation probes and generators. certain products within this lot may be classified as high cost tariff excluded devices under the NHS England High Cost Tariff Excluded Devices (HCTED) programme. Trusts who are commissioned to provide specialised services in England are directed to purchase all their requirements through a national supply system through NHS Supply Chain. Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of 10 000 000 GBP to 15 000 000 GBP in the first year of this FAG, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the FAG. Tumour Ablation is a minimally invasive surgical method to treat solid cancers. Special probes are used to ‘burn’ or ‘freeze’ cancers without the usual surgery. Computed tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is used to guide and position the needle probe into the tumour.
