Tender description

Transfer-Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass-Spectrometer (PTR-ToF-MS) The University of East Anglia requires a supplier that can provide a Proton-Transfer-Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass-Spectrometer (PTR-ToF-MS) for fast measurement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the atmosphere. We require the instrument to be mounted into a specialist rack that has been approved for aircraft use. The rack will be provided by the customer. This process will require bespoke design and mounting considerations and regular consultation with the customer. Rack diagrams are provided with this tendering document. We are looking for high sensitivity (detection limits in the low PPT or sub-PPT range) and high mass resolution, and the instrument must be capable of operating during the rapid pressure and humidity changes that occur during aircraft flights. Issues of weight, power requirement and electromagnetic interference with other aircraft instrumentation/systems will also need to be considered.
