Tender description

NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (the ‘Authority') intend to, without competition, during the period 1.1.2020-31.3.2021 enhance the Early Intervention and Prevention (EIP) offer for Eating Disorder services Sheffield. EIP is currently commissioned through agreements with Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT), Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust (SHSC) and South Yorkshire Eating Disorder Association (SYEDA). SCFT, SHSC and SYDEA (together, the Providers) have been working with the Authority to redesign existing Eating Disorders services across Sheffield. The intention of this work is to align pathways to ensure an integrated experience of care and consider how prevention can be further enhanced to support a reduction in avoidable escalation to specialist services. As part of this reconfiguration, the Authority have been successful in securing some non-recurrent funding to enhance the early intervention and prevention element of the pathway; specifically to deliver targeted training and education to key professionals (schools, youth workers, intervention workers, general practitioners and 0-19s health care practitioners) across Sheffield on eating disorders to support early recognition and understand the early help that can be accessed currently. The Authority is working closely with the existing Providers to redesign the model and this provision is instrumental in the re-design. Given funding is time limited; to ensure that any training accurately reflects existing offers, which the Providers are key in delivering; to ensure existing relationships with those who are receiving the training can be capitalised on (through established effective engagement) and to avoid further fragmentation of the eating disorder service offer; the Authority intends to make a direct award to SYEDA through enhancement of their existing contract. Contract value 72 779 GBP for 2019/20 and 145 598 GBP for 2020/21 a total contract value of 218 368 GBP.
