Tender description

Invitations are invited from companies and groups interested in working in partnership with Sefton Council in order to continue to provide a cycle hire service for residents and visitors to Southport. The scheme was set up to provide an affordable option for families to hire bikes whilst also helping to reduce congestion by ensuring there is an alternative option to using the car whilst travelling around the area. The existing contract expires at the end of March 2020 and the new contract offers an opportunity for the right, customer focussed organisation to work with the Council in continuing to run and grow the existing cycle hire scheme. Southport Cycle Hire has been running since 2009 and due to various funding streams has run under several different business models. Currently there is one centre hiring bikes which is based in the Eco Centre, Esplanade, Southport which is partly staffed by Sefton Council staff. This centre is open all year round. Keywords: Cycle Hire, Management Services, Transport
