Tender description

The British Council is seeking to establish a café/catering services for their new flagship headquarters in Stratford London due to open in September 2020. The purpose of this notice is to alert any interested economic operators that the British Council intends to tender its contract requirements for the provision of café/catering and hospitality services. It is anticipated that the contract will be in a single lot and will be published in February 2020. A café facility will be prominently located on ground floor adjacent to the main building reception and is expected to operate as the ‘hub’ of the building. Whilst there are on-site support facilities, these are limited and do not provide a full kitchen with mechanical extraction. Therefore, the product range is expected to revolve around a quality beverage service, cold and warm simple dishes and all-day food requirements. There is an additional opportunity for the supply of day-to-day meeting room and hospitality catering as well as occasional larger-scale event catering services. Although it is expected that these will require external support for production and holding prior to delivery. At this stage we anticipate the value of the combined café and catering services over the contract term to be circa 2 000 000 GBP.
