Tender description
Cheshire East Council(CEC)is seeking a destination management organisation (DMO)to deliver a visitor economy activity plan in support of its visitor economy strategy for Cheshire East (CE) and the area’s destination management. Expectations: — recognised as a DMO-Visit England/Visit Britain, — be a partnership organisation that is able to represent the interests of its members/partners and the visitor economy/tourism sector in CE. Demonstrate a high level of skill in developing and managing such partnerships, — represent CEC on the Governance Board that pertain to the DMO’s sectoral support relevant to CE, — strategic leader in destination development, — lead/co-ordinate activities under a coherent strategy, — identify opportunities/facilitate projects to maximise the availability/effective use of resources to the benefit of the sector, — engage in activity to deliver the CE Visitor Economy strategy and incorporate in the DMO’s Destination Management Plan to increase the economic value of the sector. Before finalising the procurement procedure, the Council is seeking the views of potential market participants through responses to the specification and answering the points in Appendix 2. The views of the responding organisations will be carefully considered by the Council in finalising the choice of delivery model and development of the procurement procedure. The Council is keen to understand the attractiveness to the market of the opportunity and any modifications or features that will help deliver the Council’s Aims and Objectives. The specification will be available on the Chest eTendering portal at: www.the-chest.org.uk — Project ID DN453194 Completed responses should be returned via the Chest by the deadline date of 8.00 20.1.2020. There are no restrictions on the word count or format of the completed responses. Respondents are asked to provide the name and contact details of the person submitting the response on the organisation’s behalf. When submitting a response to the specification, responding organisations should clearly indicate which (if any) part of their response they view as commercially confidential. Any such response must be clearly marked ‘Confidential’ and the responding organisation must set out the reason(s) why.
