Tender description

The Borough is currently involved in the Zero Emission Network (ZEN) which is an air quality initiative for both businesses and residents to save money, reduce emissions and improve air quality. ZEN is now focusing on raising awareness around solid fuel burning, primarily the production of particulate matter (PM) pollution which can have negative implications on human health. The two objectives of ZEN relating to solid fuel burning and PM pollution are as follows: 1. Undertake direct conversations with thousands of residents through targeted door knocking in areas where wood burning is likely to take place; educating residents on how they can reduce their impact on particulate pollution; and 2. Direct conversations with businesses using charcoal grills and bread ovens; ensuring they are being used in a way which minimises PM pollution. Revisiting businesses to audit uptake of advice will also be undertaken.
