Tender description

The purpose of this contract is to ensure DVSAs specialist vehicle weighing equipment is available for use at all times, through regular repair and maintenance, calibration and verification in accordance with the manufacturers’ recommendations and UK/EU legislation relative to the use of the weighing equipment in place at the time. DVSA retains a number of weighing locations throughout Great Britain (GB) from which it delivers vehicle weighing services, in particular for its road traffic enforcement. For enforcement activity to be successful the weighing equipment and concrete approach levels have to be compliant and accurate in line with the consolidated code of practice. Services required to ensure the specialist weighing equipment employed for DVSA and DVA (Northern Ireland DVSA equivalent) Enforcement activities is available for use at all times, through regular maintenance, calibration and verification in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and UK legislation relative to the use of weighing equipment in place at the time. To include: Construction Installation Repair Maintenance Calibration Verification Level surveying Surveying and repair of concrete approach levels Surveying of portable weighing sites Some civil and mechanical engineering works for major concrete repairs or new weighbridge or weigh-pad installations Appear as an Expert Witness in Court
