The ‘designed framework for living’ plan should bring together in an innovative combination: • Public Space Streetscape Design: an audit of available space for green or public spaces to be completed with a proposal of development projects. Detailed design and costings for streetscape enhancement project for public space (refer to Map A). A mapping of potential sustainable travel routes to allow residents to walk or cycle to school, work and recreational activities (refer to Map B). The output should present phased streetscape capital projects. The design should incorporate: o Detailed Design for Streetscape Enhancements for public and green spaces o Detailed Specification, Cost Estimates for the Design Proposals and Programme Bar Chart o Preliminary Report o Final Report • Urban Living Design Development: Traditional urban master-planning with a focus on repurposing vacant buildings for mixed use taking into consideration an architectural approach to the whole town centre. A sample of buildings will be selected within one building block and preliminary/sketch design for refurbishment of one building will be developed which can be utilised as typology of a building. Consideration should be given to car parking space for town centre residents using backlands or other available land. The design should incorporate: o Preliminary Design for sample Pilot Building Block and one sample building typology o Identification of potential car parking for town centre residents o Outline Specification, Cost Estimates for the Design Proposals and Programme Bar Chart o Preliminary Report o Final Report Business Case & Design Guidance: Provide a business case and design guidance package for a Sample Building within the Sample Building Block for refurbishment projects-payback, finance options etc
