Wrexham Townscape Heritage Scheme is a 5-year programme looking to restore and conserve many of Wrexham’s historically important buildings within Wrexham Town Centre Conservation Area, making them attractive for local businesses and individuals. Fundamental to the success of the programme will be the upskilling of the workforce in traditional building skills, providing a legacy of construction workers with the ability to work in this sector. Wrexham CBC intends to establish a ‘Dynamic Purchasing System’ (DPS),for companies of various sizes to have the opportunity expand their experience and work on historic buildings. The intention is to: — encourage new companies into this work area; — provide opportunities for training and developing skills in traditional building techniques.
