Summary of the work Provide provision of Website Development and Design project. • Development of a new front-end website • Development of backend infrastructure replicating and enhancing current systems • Migration of existing data and content • Testing and deployment of new solution, including user testing • 2 year support contract following initial deployment Expected Contract Length 1 year development 2 years support Latest start date Friday 1 November 2019 Budget Range Year 1 - £50K Year 2 & 3 Support - TBC Why the Work is Being Done • Development of a new front-end website • Development of back end infrastructure replicating and enhancing current systems • Migration of existing data and content • Testing and deployment of new solution, including user testing (supported by the Hub) • 2 year support contract following initial deployment • Host two internship positions for 3 months to support Salford University (Paid by MFT) Any IP created or developed by the successful bidder should be disclosed and the full ownership should be transferred, along with control of any associated digital or physical infrastructure, to the GM Health and Social Care Careers Hub. Problem to Be Solved Very tight timescale work ideally needs to stat End October. Who Are the Users - Resources, Links & information relevant to organisations & learners who wish to engage with the hub. - Aimed at staff & Ambassadors who wish to be involved in careers engagement activity. - The site has a number of functions which are tailored to individual users based on factors such as their location. - Extensive back-end functionality which enables the team to conduct a variety of administrative and communication task. - Client management application, holding data on all the organisations - Functionality to manage & coordinate volunteer support for events requested by schools & colleges. - Monitor & report activity. Can you confirm if you are already working with a supplier in this area and if so who are they? No - the existing platform was developed in-house. 2. A basic understanding of .Net, C# and MVC will likely be necessary in order to effectively migrate the data from the exisiting platform and replicate any exisiting functionality. 3. "1. The current site has various backend user forms and functions to enable the Careers Hub team to add content and manage administrative functions and communication. We would be open to options here but would want to migrate exisiting data and ensure that most current functionality is replicated. 4. The coding of the website requested is ASP.net & C#. Is there any latitude on the code used for the delivery of this project such as PHP? .Net and C# would be preferable as well as an MVC model but there is flexbility. A basic understanding of .Net, C# and MVC will likely be necessary in order to effectively migrate the data from the exisiting platform and replicate any exisiting functionality. 5. "1. The intention is for student interns from a local university to be hosted for a 3 month period in order to support elements of the delivery of the project. The intention is that we will provide funding for their pay but they will be managed by the supplier. 9. what do you mean by hosting 3x students? Does this constitute the management of a team of junior developers employed by NHS to assist in the delivery of the solution, managed by the successful partner? The intention is for student interns from a local university to be hosted for a 3 month period in order to support elements of the delivery of the project. They do not necessarily need to be working as junior devs and could focus on any element of the work such as content development. The intention is that we will provide funding for their pay but they will be managed by the supplier. 10. Is the required work to extend the existing solution or is this a re-build, using the existing solution as a point of reference? Both options are available. We do want to retain the exisiting data but require additional functionality as well as an overhual of the front-end and user experience. 11. Does the current website use a content management system? Or is it a bespoke ASP.NET application? Bespoke application developed in-house, the system has various backend user forms and functions to enable the team to add content and manage administrative functions and communication. 12.
