Independent Advisor for Enfield Pension Fund

Enfield Council is looking for expressions of interest for an Independent Advisor for Enfield Pension Fund as a part of the market engagement. The applicant should have at least five years’ experience in a similar role or be a senior investment manager or actuary/pensions professional; preferably recently retired having access to research resource; good knowledge of investment matters and asset classes. Yes/No The applicant needs to be aware of investment industry and pension industry trends and developments, working knowledge of LGPS preferred; good knowledge of actuarial methodology standards and “thinking” such that advice from actuarial and investment consultants can be adequately challenged. Yes/No The adviser needs to be objective and customer aware, ensure that they are up to date with respect to the legislation, regulations, risks and opportunities with respect to the management of pensions and investment funds. Yes/No The adviser will have an understanding of the changing circumstances and appreciation of the risks and opportunities inherent in a rapidly changing business environment in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. Yes/No The role requires a positive and committed attitude with independence of judgement, excellent communication skills at all levels, ability to facilitate constructive debate and to pro-actively positively challenging fund managers, investment consultant or actuary at meetings.
