Tender description

Cooperation Across Borders for Biodiversity (CABB) is a cross border Interreg VA project. RSPB Northern Ireland is the lead partner; Birdwatch Ireland and four other organisations are partners. Fiddandarry is a partly drained area of blanket bog, in the Ox Mountains Bogs SAC (Natura Code 002006), Co. Sligo. The project site, 446 ha, to the west of Lough Easky, was purchased by the Irish government for nature conservation. Drains had been excavated, for forestry purposes, prior to its purchase by the state. It is proposed to re-wet the peat land habitat by blocking off most of the 35km of drains. Full details are in the attached documents.
