Tender description

The objective of this contract is to deliver a suite of works on 2 adjacent upland sites in the West Pennines SSSI. The works aim to stabilise bare peat, slow the flow of surface water, restore hydrology, and increase biodiversity on the sites, including the supervision of subcontractors appointed pursuant to separate contracts. 2) The works comprise the following tasks: 2.1) Management and instruction of up to 3 sub-contractors, to be appointed by the authority; 2.2) Supply and delivery of materials required to complete the works, unless otherwise stated; 2.3) Appropriate storage of materials, as necessary; 2.4) Forwarding of materials and equipment required to complete the works to and within works sites, including airlifting; 2.5) Installation of stone dams into gullies; 2.6) Re-profiling of haggs and gully sides; 2.7) Vegetation translocation on to re-profiled gully sides; 2.8) Installation of peat dams into gullies; 2.9) Installation of Peat Bunds; 2.10) Planting of sphagnum plug plants; 2.11) Removal of waste materials from sites.
