Tender description
The V&A is seeking to put in place a non-exclusive, non binding Framework Agreement with a number of Contractors for the development and delivery of storage solutions and related services to the V&A. This will be used for the V&A's storage requirements across all sites, including a large initial requirement for the fit-out of its new collection and research centre. It is envisaged that 2-5 Contractors will be appointed per lot. V&A Dundee and the Science Museum Group will also be able to use the framework but are not bound to do so. The estimated value of the V&A's requirements over the duration is 4 000 000 GBP-6 000 000 GBP. Please refer to the tender documents for further information and specifications This Lot includes a number of standard storage systems including plan chests and cabinets (may be glass-fronted), and the V&A may require these to sit on mobile bases. Requirements could include long-span and short-span, rack supported, manual or powered systems. Please refer to the tender documents for further information and specifications Due to the variety of collections held by the V&A and the historic nature of the V&A’s estate, on occasion the Museum has commissioned bespoke storage solutions (e.g. for musical instruments). It is anticipated that there may be some limited requirements in the future which would need to be tailored to individual collections’ needs or the constraints of a specific space. Please refer to the tender documents for further information and specifications This Lot includes storage systems for 2D &3D collections (e.g. paintings, mirrors, and stained glass) which need to be stored upright on static or pull-out mesh panels. Please refer to the tender documents for further information and specifications This lot includes storage for library and archival collections. This may be required to be static or mobile; and manual or powered.
