Public Health England (PHE) is planning to award a contract for formalin vaporiser and neutraliser systems using Ammonia suitable for use in Microbiology Safety Cabinets (MBSC) to Foramaflow Ltd. Public Health England (PHE) is planning to award a contract for formalin vaporiser and neutraliser systems using ammonia suitable for use in Microbiology Safety Cabinets (MBSC) to Foramaflow Ltd. Formaldehyde vapour is the recognised and biocidal agent and therefore often used in Fumigation process. However, due to Formaldehyde toxicity and its status as a known carcinogen a need for reliable neutralising system was identified as an urgent safety measure. The formalin vaporiser and neutraliser systems must be: — fully automatic, — suitable for MBSC: I, II (ducted and re-circulating) and III — different proposal for each type is acceptable, — use ammonia, — meet fumigation standards: ISBN 0 7176 2034 4 & BS EN 12469:2000 Please note that PHE is not looking for other methods of fumigation or different fumigants as a part of the contract.
