Northumberland County Council (The Authority) is looking to appoint a single supplier for the comprehensive provision of End Point Protection for its client/server/mobile device estates. The solution must provide security by protecting from viruses, Trojans, worms, hackers, and network viruses, plus spyware and mixed threat attacks. It must clean computers of file-based/fileless viruses and network viruses plus virus and worm remnants (Trojans, registry entries, viral files)—through a fully-automated process. The solution should have the protection against ransomware variants and rootkits. The Authority is committed to cyber security and protecting staff and citizens against cyber threats. We have a ‘defence in-depth’ approach to Cyber Security and have anti-malware defences across our organisation to protect all endpoint host and client machines with software that will actively scan for malware. The Authority has various sites across Northumberland County with our headquarters in Morpeth. We currently have some 5,000 Corporate endpoints accessing 420 servers mostly virtual in two data centres. The network provides connectivity to 350 sites many of which have Wi-Fi and the WAN is managed by BT. Applications are provided to staff and partner organisations and members of the public. Our peak concurrent usage is around 3,500 users across Northumberland. 3,000 Mobile phones. There is also a requirement for up to 9,000 academic licences.
