Tender description

A patient portal that is fully integrated with the Trust's instance of its Cerner based patient administration system (electronic patient record), providing patients with read and write access to the patient administration system to allow for hospital appointments to be booked, cancelled or rescheduled, provide access to the patient's medical record to the patient, integrate with wearable devices and allow patients to receive letters electronically via the portal, all without the need for human intervention by hospital staff. The Authority has procured a perpetual licence of a fully integrated patient portal that provides patients with the ability to book, cancel and change outpatient appointments, access medical records and receive letters electronically. The awarding authority required the portal to provide read and write access to its version of Cerner Millenium patient administration system, thereby not requiring human intervention by hospital staff in order to make changes to appointments or access health records. Specifically, the Authority required at least the following functionality in a single patient portal accessible by patients via a web-based platform: — read and download appointment letters and other relevant documents (e.g. clinic letters), — manage outpatient appointments through a web-based booking portal allowing for appointments to be booked, cancelled or re-scheduled, with real-time availability of appointment slots and read/write access in to its instance of Cerner Millenium, — provide functionality to allow for virtual clinics (video based appointments), — provide integration for wearable devices, — collect patient reported data via simple forms (e.g. friends and family).
