Tender description

Delivery of The NHS Health Check programme is a mandatory public health service for Somerset County Council. The NHS Health Check is a national risk assessment and management programme for those aged 40 to 74 living in England, who do not have an existing vascular disease, and who are not currently being treated for certain risk factors. It is aimed at preventing heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease and raising awareness of dementia. An NHS Health Check should be offered once every 5 years. This is not a call for competition and is not yet a contract opportunity Somerset County Council is seeking to hear from organisations that might be interested in delivering the NHS Health Check programme in Somerset, utilising a range of delivery approaches which supports targeted delivery whilst achieving county wide coverage. SCC is intending to run a procurement process mid-2019. A Soft Market Testing event will be held on Thursday 14.3.2019 and Somerset County Council is inviting organisations to attend that might be interested in delivering this programme. The event will be an opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of how NHS Health Checks features in the County of Somerset and the aspirations for future service design, as well as offering the opportunity for prospective providers to help shape the final service design. Somerset County Council is keen to hear feedback from providers as part of the wider consultation for these services. Organisations that take part will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in any potential future formal procurement. Commercial confidentiality will be respected. This notice does not represent a formal commitment by Somerset County Council to undertake a procurement procedure.
