Tender description

It is the intention of the London Legacy Development Corporation (“LLDC”) as the Contracting Authority to appoint one contractor under a single contract for the frame works for 2 buildings, the BBC and Sadler's Wells buildings at the Stratford Waterfront Culture and Education Development at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (“QEOP”). The works required are intended to include (without limitation); Structural Cores, External and Internal Public Lift Cores, Structural Frame, Plant Rooms and Areas, Roofs and Hub Terraces, Block work, Builders’ Work and Fire Protection, Staircases and Ramps, Public Realm Structure and Temporary Works. The scope is further described in greater detail in the procurement documents. The frame design for both buildings is predominantly reinforced concrete (both traditional in situ and precast elements, with some post tensionnd elements within Sadler’s Wells) to provide acoustic mass. There is also a steel element, large steel trusses will be required to carry spanning floors and roofs. A single contract is being let for this works package therefore the successful Contractor will be responsible for delivering both the concrete and steel construction elements directly, through subcontracting or formation of a group (with a nominated lead) e.g. Joint Venture.
