Based on the estimates the 3 year pricing is divided as follows: Year 1 - £455K - 20 PCDA places @ £19,750 each + 20 DHP places @ £3,000 each. Year 2 - £800K - 20 PCDA places @ £19,750 each + 135 DHP places @ £3,000 each. Year 3 - £800K - 20 PCDA places @ £19,750 each + 135 DHP places @ £3,000 each. Total cost over 3 years - £2,055,000. If the contract is extend for a further 3 years then potential costs could double to £4,110,000. This is of course dependent upon recruitment levels and the number of officers who require a degree qualification to these specific levels. All costs for the PCDA are paid from the Apprenticeship Levy. Under the tender submitted by UCLAN, Lancashire Constabulary will receive back £3,838 from UCLAN for each student recruited and trained as a PCDA apprentice to cover Lancashire’s costs in training these officers. Based on the above figures, over the 3 year period, Lancashire Constabulary will receive back as income £225,180 based on this arrangement. If more students are recruited under the PCDA then this figure will increase. In terms of the DHEP the £3,000 cost per student covers UCLAN’s cost only.
