Alarm Notification Systems for Irish Naval Service Ships

Tender description

The INS wishes to procure further equipment, similar to in function and form, as currently fitted on board P63 L.E. W.B. YATES. These systems, once fitted will interface the ships’ existing alarm and notification systems such as (amongst others) the fire alarm system, DMR system, engine management system, ‘man-down’ and security distress systems. On receiving alarms or events from the above systems the monitoring system will format and present this information to a wide variety of carriers, a full list is given in detail with regards to the format and nature of these notifications. The monitoring system must operate in a variety of modes depending on the ships operational status, each mode will result in a different set of profiles, and these will dictate how the system will react. A concise description of the operational requirement is dealt with later in this document. Any proposed system must be compatible with the ships existing systems, there will be no scope to change existing fire panels or engine management systems.
