Tender description

The service provided cover three interrelated core elements: 1) Carer support service; 2) Dementia enabling and support service; 3) Dementia carers resilience service. The service works in partnership with primary care to offer information, advice and short term respite to carers of people with dementia. Referrals are received from GP Practice staff. NHS Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) (the “Authority”) intends to extend a contract without competition during the period 1.4.2019 — 31.3.2022 to the incumbent providers as detailed below: Cross Roads Care Rotherham Crossroads Care Rotherham Unit H, The Point, Bradmarsh, Rotherham, S. Yorks S60 1BP Charity Registration No. 1062664 The CCG continues to work with partners across the Rotherham Place to commissioning integrated pathways of care. Crossroads Care Rotherham is a well-established Rotherham, not for profit, voluntary sector organisation, with a CQC Rating of Outstanding. It is an organisation that supports carers and the people they care for, by providing a wide range of services, in a variety of settings across the borough. Currently Crossroads Care Rotherham holds an NHS Standard Contract with RCCG, which is due to expire March 2019. The service provided cover three interrelated core elements: 1) Carer support service: This element of the pathway provides short-term support to: — prevent carer breakdown, — increase carer resilience and in doing so enable them to continue to care, — to assess carers needs and develop a longer-term package of support. 2) Dementia enabling and support service: Similarly, like carer support, this service provides ongoing support for people with dementia and their carers to continue to live independently, but on a long-term basis. 3) Dementia carers resilience service: The service works in partnership with primary care to offer information, advice and short term respite to carers of people with dementia. Referrals are received from GP Practice staff. The extension allows for the continuation of a well embedded integrated pathway of Dementia Care across the Rotherham Place. The service provided, works across both primary and secondary care, as well as linking into key local voluntary sector organisations. This is main reason for the justification to make a direct award of contract as a procurement approach via tender would be seen as risk to fragmenting a fully integrated pathway of care. Rotherham CCG is therefore of the view that it is in the best interest of the Rotherham Resident to make a direct award of contract to cross roads care.
