Request for technical data sheets and specifications for arsenic removal media for use in Water Treatment. Severn Trent Water are looking to assess the market availability for Iron Hydroxide Oxide for use in Water Treatment to remove arsenic. Please submit your product specifications and product technical data sheets for assessment of suitability. Below outlines the specifications any product must meet. The Iron (III) Hydroxide Oxide supplied must conform to BS EN 15029:2012 ‘Products used for treatment of water intended for human consumption – Iron (III) Hydroxide Oxide’ The water content is a mass fraction of up to 50 %. (i) this product shall be an irregular brown granular material and must not contain any mineral or organic substances capable of impairing the health of those drinking water which has been correctly treated with the product. It should also be free of all compounds which would impart an adverse taste on the water either before or after chlorination; (ii) this product shall be of such quality that, when used for normal water treatment processes it does not add to the water any contaminant at concentrations greater than 1 tenth of the prescribed concentrations or values as listed in the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000. The effective size and minimum size will have a maximum deviation of +/- 5 %. The uniformity coefficient should be less than 2,1; Or The proportion of the oversize plus undersize particles shall not exceed a mass fraction of 20 % and not more than a mass fraction of 10 % shall be undersized. In all cases the specification applies to the as-delivered chemical; the responsibility for clean, safe and secure transportation therefore lies with the supplier.
