Advanced meter infrastructure (non call for competition) Severn Trent Water Ltd (STW) and Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig (HD) are considering an advanced metering solutions, and are looking to find suppliers which have the technical capabilities that can answer our problem statement as below: STW and HD wishes to identify opportunities to support our business ambitions around leakage detection and water consumption in conjunction with constantly improving our customer's experience. STW and HD are looking for an automated meter solution which can prove improving increased frequency and granularity of data to cover the STW and HD region. The purpose of this PIN notice is for soft market evaluation only and is not a call for competition STW and HD are looking for an advanced meter solution including goods and services (hardware, communications, customer strategy, data analytics, but not installation providers) that can cover the STW and HD geographical region with a potential over 1 million meter end points. STW and HD will be reviewing supplier solutions that can support the achievement of: — reduction of demand for water by reducing leakage on the network and helping customers reduce their water consumption. This will also include the increased accuracy and consistency of receiving data to support trend analysis in consumption whilst improving the customer experience through automated technology. We are looking at a variety of industries to understand their various stages of development for their products and services currently available combined their future roadmap offering similar technologies STW and HD are interested in exploring a number of options for advanced metering solutions and the relevant metering infrastructure. We want to understand the current market capabilities and subsequent technology roadmaps for the next 5-10 years across the UK and Global markets. Options could potentially mirror other Utilities' advanced metering solutions in providing customers with data that can be shared via copies of relevant case studies. STW and HD are keen to understand the total costs (cradle to grave) costs for installing and running an automated metering solution to determine viability. This can include commercial mechanisms/models with examples of joint ventures, vertical integration solutions, scalable benefits, volume capability as well as R&D amortisation and Return on investment calculations STW and HD have a number of regulatory and non-regulatory goals linked to the strategic consideration of the advanced metering solutions which will form part of the consideration when reviewing solutions which may result in a subsequent call for competition which will be issued separately after the closure of this PIN notice.
