Cardiff Council wishes to engage with suppliers who can facilitate the supply and installation of a water cannon system to manage the fire risk within the tipping hall of its Materials Reclamation Facility (MRF). The supplier is required to undertake a survey of the MRF and provide a quotation for an effective and cost efficient solution taking in to consideration existing water supply, material flow/volume and detailing how the system complies with industry guidance (WASTE 28 Reducing Fire Risk At Waste Management Sites). Suppliers must have appropriate accreditation (e.g. SafeContractor Certification) and/or robust health and safety procedures to demonstrate competency for installation. It is anticipated that surveys can be carried out in January 2020, with an equipment installation in March-April 2020.
