A new freezing/chilling cum drying system equipment capable of processing liquid & semi-solid foods is required to facilitate this. The equipment should be able to dry liquid foods at freezing temperatures. Process optimisation and potential scale up is seen as essential by the food industry especially for liquid foods. The main features of the equipment should be user friendly which can be used to investigate physic-chemical properties; quality and microbiological safety of the processed products. This processing capability along with process optimisation and potential scale up is seen as essential by the food industry. The main features of the system should be capable to dry both at freezing, room and high temperature. The system should be able to have advanced control system to monitor temperature, flow of material and processing times.
