Carlow County Council’s - Local Enterprise Office promote and support micro enterprises and people thinking of starting their own business. The main supports are business information services, training, mentoring, business networks and financial supports for qualifying businesses. As part of its annual programme it delivers a suite of business development supports designed for companies based in County Carlow that have the desire and ambition to scale and grow. During 2020, it is proposed to launch a new programme called “The Productivity Hub” People, Performance & Productivity Development Programme which is aimed at owner managers and key staff. The programme will be launched in April 2020 with an information briefing and the programme will commence in May 2020. It is envisaged that companies will take 6 months to complete the programme. The programme will be delivered through a combination of training and mentoring which baseline metrics at the commencement and conclusion of the programme. It is envisaged the programme will be designed around (1) 1 Day Training Session to assist owner managers to understand the people resource in their company (2) In company HR Health Check & Review (conducted via 3 mentoring sessions) (3) 1 Day Training Session on Effective Ways to increase productivity (4) In company mentoring (2 Sessions) to examine opportunities and challenges around People, Performance & Productivity. It is envisaged that as part of item (4) companies will be provided with a company development template which will be completed during the mentoring and this process will include signposting to sources of support.
