Tender description
As part of the draft delivery plan 2020-2025 in support of the Greater Manchester Transport Strategy 2 040, TfGM has a number of proposals to introduce tram-train services to part of an enhanced rapid transport public transport offering. The purpose of this market engagement exercise is to enable TfGM to gain a better understanding of the capabilities of the tram-train vehicle supplier market.This knowledge will assist TfGM in planning the proposed future tram-train specification and procurement in a way that best aligns with the capabilities of the market. In addition, the knowledge gained will enable TfGM to take account of the tram-train vehicle capabilities and limitations in developing the extensions and future operational service plans. (Also please see 11.2.4). The purpose of this market engagement exercise is to enable TfGM to gain a better understanding of the capabilities of the tram-train vehicle supplier market.This knowledge will assist TfGM in planning the proposed future tram-train specification and procurement in a way that best aligns with the capabilities of the market. In addition, the knowledge gained will enable TfGM to take account of the tram-train vehicle capabilities and limitations in developing the extensions and future operational service plans. Interested suppliers responding to this market engagement exercise should: 1) Register interest on the Pro-Contract ePortal; 2) Email david.gregg@tfgm.com confirming interest and provide their registered Pro Contract prime contact's email address. Following receipt of the above TfGM will issue (via Pro Contract) a non-disclosure agreement that will need to be signed and returned via the ePortal. TfGM will, upon receipt, issue further detail and a supplier questionnaire that should be returned via the Pro Contract ePortal by 31.1.2020. Further to the above and subject to questionnaire response it is TfGM's intention to further engage with respondees via supplier days between February and April 2020.
