Home Group are implementing a framework for the interior design and fit out of multiple residential schemes across the UK. Home Group are implementing a framework for the interior design and fit out of multiple residential schemes across the UK. This is to include the design, delivery and implementation inclusive of fixtures and fittings and furniture and furnishings. There is increasing evidence that well-designed interiors of these schemes genuinely enhance the lives of the older people who live within and use them. Well-considered design can help reduce the anxieties created for people living with cognitive impairments such as dementia and sensory impairments such as sight loss. Our aim is to ensure the interior design must create all communal spaces which are truly accessible for our residents and not just those with cognitive and visual impairments. Creating a fully accessible community well-being hub for all, i.e. older person’s services, dementia friendly and young adult schemes. We expect the interior design to meet all requirements of DDA legislation, care quality commission (CQC) regulatory requirements and Sterling recommendations that of design good practice for cognitive impairment.
