Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Joint Professional Services Framework

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region is a major contributor to the UK economy and economic output is anticipated to double over the next 25 years. This rate of growth places high pressure on the housing and transport infrastructure of the region, leading to congestion and other negative impacts which act as a constraint on investment and continued economic development. In order to address these pressures and maintain economic growth, significant and ambitious investments are being made in the region’s housing, transport systems and other infrastructure. The responsibility for delivering these investments is with four organisations. 1. The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority which as the Strategic Transport Authority is responsible for setting the strategic direction for transport in the region. 2. The Greater Cambridge Partnership which is responsible for delivering up to £1BN of investment via the City Deal, the largest in the UK. 3. Cambridgeshire County Council which as the Highway Authority is responsible for operating, maintain and improving the highway network in Cambridgeshire. 4. Peterborough City Council which as the Highway Authority is responsible for operating, maintain and improving the highway network in Peterborough. In order to deliver these responsibilities, the contracting authorities are seeking to establish a framework with two multi-disciplinary suppliers to provide a range of technical and professional services. The services will cover the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects from development of business cases through to design and construction supervision. The projects are likely to include all transportation modes including highways, rail and metro, buses, cycling, walking and other sustainable modes.
