The University of York is exploring options to rationalise and replace its current myriad service desk solutions with one Software as a Service (SaaS) service desk solution. As part of market engagement, the University wishes to invite potential suppliers to respond to its high level requirements with outline solutions. At this stage, the University is only interested in exploring in the broadest sense the type of possible solutions that might be available to it in order to help the University finalise its detailed requirements prior to commencing a competitive process. As part of market engagement, the University wishes to invite potential suppliers to respond to its high level requirements with outline solutions. At this stage, the University is only interested in exploring in the broadest sense the type of possible solutions that might be available to it in order to help the University finalise its detailed requirements prior to commencing a competitive process. The University shall ensure that its detailed requirements, when finalised, are not slanted towards any particular solution but also that they fairly represent its genuine needs which may or may not be better met by some potential suppliers or solutions. The University wishes such outline solutions to be provided by 12.00 20.12.2019 in a presentation format via its e-tendering portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/york/aspx/Home). The University intends to select up to 6 of these responses, representing a broad range of possible solutions, to be physically presented in York to a cross-section of University stakeholders on a date provisionally set as 14.1.2020. Submission of outline solutions and selection for the York presentations shall not imply that the University in any way favours those potential solutions. Non-submission of outline solutions and non-selection for the York presentations shall not imply that the University in any way disfavours those potential solutions. No information submitted as part of this market engagement shall be used by the University in its evaluation of subsequent competitive tenders.
