Market engagement Event Milton Keynes Council requires providers of supported accommodation for vulnerable young people aged 16 and over and invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations to apply for admission to its Young People’s Housing Related Support Services Framework. We would like to invite providers that are interested in being admitted to the framework to attend a market engagement event where we will be sharing information about our requirements for the provision of this service. Accommodation with support is required for young people aged 16 and 17 years old who may be Looked After Children, young people assessed as a ‘Child in Need’ under Section 17 of the Children’s Act 1989, 16/17 year olds at risk of homelessness, Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers or Care Leavers. The Council requires that 16+ Supported Accommodation will: • Provide good quality furnished accommodation, typically offering between two and four bedrooms and shared facilities. • Provide 24/7 support and supervision which includes responsive practical and emotional support. This is to enable young people to gain the confidence and skills needed for them to secure and maintain education, training or employment and successfully move on to settled accommodation. • Accommodate young people within the Borough of Milton Keynes wherever possible (neighbouring Local Authority areas will be considered and, in exceptional cases, placements at distance where this is required to meet the individual needs of the young person).
