Tender description
Durham County Council is looking to commission a service for a 36 year old male who is currently in hospital but is due for discharge. He was diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder in 2011 He presents with complex needs and challenging behaviour. A residential care or supported living environment is required with staffing levels of 1:1 within the service or 2:1 when out in the Community. The service would also require immediate availability and response from additional staff - up to 5 may be required, to provide safe physical intervention in event of seriously aggressive physical behaviour. Supported living placements have broken down in the past and his most recent placement was residential care.
