Tender description

1. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea [RBKC] has an ongoing need to ensure a removals and storage service is available for residents who approach the housing department for assistance. At the date of this specification this includes residents who apply to the authority under the homelessness legislation and residents wishing to transfer from Council managed and/or other socially rented accommodation to more suitable accommodation. 2. There may also be occasions where residents approach the Council from housing tenures other than those mentioned, where provision of the service will be made available. Residents using the service increasingly include the vulnerable and elderly, disabled residents, residents on the Accessible Housing Register and those affected by the Grenfell tragedy who require additional support to enable them to move. 3. The Contractor should be a contractor that is in the business of providing the following services for residents living in private sector and social rented housing accommodation: • Removals and delivery • Storage - collection and delivery
