Buckinghamshire County Council Provider information event: Thursday 28th November 2019 2.30-4.30 at Knight Hall, Green Park, Aston Clinton, Aylesbury, HP22 5NE We will be holding an information event next Thursday regarding the commissioning of a Block Children’s Residential home solo placement for your person with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties The event will include a detailed presentation setting out the placement requirements and a review of the draft specification of need for this young person. Attendees will be given the opportunity to review the draft specification for the service to ask any questions they may have regarding this. Service summary: Buckinghamshire County Council, in partnership with Health and Education, are looking to commission a block contract for a single occupancy, residential service to meet the needs of a 13 year old male with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties. This placement needs to support transition from a semi-secure hospital environment into an Ofsted Registered Children’s Residential Home, which will support his gradual transition into a community setting. The placement preference is for the Aylesbury area of Buckinghamshire so that family contact can be maintained. The aim of this placement is to provide this young person with the long term stability needed to achieve a better quality of life and to meet his psychological as well as medical needs. Due to this young person’s complex needs and behaviours this will need to be a Solo Placement. This placement will be procured through the West London Alliance Residential Children’s Home Dynamic Purchasing Vehicle. The service will be awarded as a Call-off contract procured through the West London Alliance (WLA) Dynamic Purchasing Vehicle (DPV) under a mini competition. Buckinghamshire County Council and the provider will enter block contract arrangements through the WLA’s DPV.
