Tender description

For the provision of primary medical services through a general medical services contract in Aberdeen City Centre for the 9000 patients of Carden Medical Practice. In accordance with the terms of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 Section 17J (as amended), initial expressions of interest, from suitably qualified parties*, are hereby requested for the provision of primary medical services through a general medical services contract in Aberdeen City Centre for the 9 000 patients of Carden Medical Practice. (*interested parties require to comply with the relevant terms of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978, as amended, including and specifically Section 17L). This is a significant opportunity for an interested party to hold a general medical services contract for an established registered population of circa 9 000 patients. The detailed contractual requirements will be reflective of the 2018 Scottish General Medical Services Contract. The successful contractor will be expected to deliver the full range of core general medical, additional, and enhanced services, currently offered and in line with the new GMS contract and Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Strategic Plan. Innovative approaches in line with the Aberdeen City Primary Care Improvement Plan which support service sustainability in the area will be considered favourably. The Carden Medical Practice is in the West End area of the central locality and within walking distance to four other independent GP practices. Services are provided from an ample purpose built leased building. Currently a small area of the building is shared with another independent business.
