Tender description

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership on behalf of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University health board wish to inform the market that they intend to award a contract for the endoscopy system deployed within the health board. The contract will be awarded on an annual rolling basis for a period of up to 5 years. The health board wish to award the contract for an endoscopy system to Medilogik Ltd to avoid disruption to endoscopy services, following the retirement of the system in use in the ‘Cwm Taf’ geographical area of the health board. The system of the proposed economic operator, Medilogik Ltd, is already in place and is used within the ‘Morgannwg’ geographical area of the health board. This contract will roll out the Medilogik system throughout the remainder of the health board, limiting impact on patient care. The economic operator is also able to extract legacy data from the outgoing system. Further, the incumbent supplier has served notice that they will be withdrawing their system from the market, leaving insufficient time to run an open tender exercise, implement a new system and withdraw legacy data from the old system before the incumbent system is retired. The endoscopy system is vital to the management of the endoscopy service and not having a contract in place would have a significant impact on patient care. The proposed economic operator supports JAG Clinical audit and is fully compliant with the National Endoscopy Database NED –it is the only supplier that holds NED JETS validation.
